I think that I actually did a pretty good job all told in my drafting, even if I didn't know that the numbers in the book were "graduated measures" and not inch markings. I still have to go back and figure out what a graduated measure is and how to use them. Future reference, you know...
My hope is that I can use the mock up for the lining...so I really would have rather used all one colour (not that anyone should really see it), but just used what I had on hand for two reasons: 1) no sense in buying more material unless I have to and 2) Andrew's going to be in town in just a few days and I really wanted to have this done so I could fit it on him.
So...the body of the thing is brown:
But I must share the sleeve adventure. First, I forgot to cut the seam allowance on the under portion of the sleeve. (These are two-piece coat sleeves.) Second, I next sewed them in backwards (elbows up!) Third, the second time I sewed them in, I realized that my reasoning was all off and that I actually needed to sew the sleeves on right side out instead of inside out. (Don't ask me why...my brain was acting dyslexic, I guess.)
Anyway, I finally got them in correctly. Now, I just have to wait until Andrew tries it on....
